Brisbane Strikers Squad Profiles: 10 Wayne Knipe

Jul 09, 2012 by

Now 34, Wayne Knipe has a long history with the Brisbane Strikers, having first played for them as a teenager when they were in the National Soccer League. After many years away from the club he returned last year but a dislocated hip sustained in training effectively ended his season after only one game. Nevertheless, his enthusiasm and determination to overcome the injury kept him involved on the training paddock and have helped him retain a place in the squad this year. This will most likely be as a centre forward, where his energy and ability to lay the ball off accurately, as well as his proven finishing prowess, will be his key assets.
