Having arrived at the Brisbane Strikers in 2009 after stints with the A-League’s Queensland Roar and New Zealand Knights, Richter has battled a series of injuries over three-and-a-half seasons that have restricted his appearances to just twenty-one. For the first time in four seasons, Richter was able to get a solid pre-season under his belt and had appeared this season to be just about back to his best when a freak workplace injury resulted in damage to ligaments and bone in his left foot that has sidelined him again. At this stage, Richter is hoping to be fit again for the last seven rounds of the QSL. If he is, and if he can recapture the form he was in earlier this season, that will be bad news for defenders all around Queensland because his electrifying pace, evasive skills and shooting ability in either foot will keep them on edge and guessing his intentions whenever the ball is at his feet.
